Virginia Lee Hayward, 94, of Walker, formerly of Litchfield and Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Yorkshire Stonebridge Manor in Walker. She was born on September 14, 1931 in Bethel Township to Raymond and Thelma (Keesler) Mast. Virginia married Lowell G. Hayward on July 11, 1950, and he preceded her in death in 2022.

Virginia graduated from Quincy High School in 1949. She was active at Litchfield First Baptist Church nearly all of her adult life. Virginia was an excellent seamstress and cook. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by one son, Craig (Mary) Hayward of Grand Rapids; two daughters, Cheryl Gilchrist of Coldwater, Cathie Nutt of Evansville, IN; one sister, Mary Miller of Quincy; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Lowell, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Dennis Alan Hayward; brother and sister-in-law, Donald (Virginia) Mast and brother-in-law, Donald Miller.

A private family graveside will take place at Whig Center Cemetery. A celebration of Life will take place at a later date at the Litchfield First Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Litchfield First Baptist Church, Yorkshire Stonebridge Manor or Corewell Hospice.
