September 23, 1926 - January 1, 2025
Virginia Teague Hirtzel, 98, of Granite Falls passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Trinity Ridge.
Virginia was born September 23, 1926 in Jonesboro, TN to the late O.S. Whisnant and Betty Wilkerson Whisnant. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Teague; second husband, Arthur Hirtzel; granddaughter, Sandy Teague; brother, Floyd Stevens; and sister, Helen Howell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Bill Teague and wife Louise of Hudson. Jim Teague of Hudson, and Roger Teague and wife Gail of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Chris Teague and wife Tammy, Jennifer Ayers and husband Nate, William Teague and wife Marti, and Kelly Johnson and husband Bradley; great grandchildren, Matthew Teague, Teagan Ayers, Sterling Ayers, Cooper Teague, Graham Teague, Julianna Johnson, Jack Ross Johnson, Shepherd Johnson, and Sawyer Johnson; and sister, Mary Turnmire.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM., Saturday, January 4, 2025 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with the Rev. Bradley Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Lonnie Bell officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mackie Funeral Service.
The family would like to thank friends, family, church family, and staff of Trinity Ridge; for providing wonderful care and support to Mrs. Hirtzel and her loved ones during this time.
