Virginia Leeanne Morrell

June 1, 1937 – January 28, 2026

Virginia Leeanne Morrell passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 28, 2026, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. She was 88 years old.

Virginia was born on June 1, 1937, and lived a life defined by love for her family and simple, meaningful joys. She spent many years living on the Oregon Coast before settling in Dallas, Oregon, where she resided in her later years.

She found deep happiness in tending her garden, where her patience and care were reflected in everything she grew. Her hands were rarely still-knitting, quilting, and creating warmth and beauty for those she loved. One of her greatest pleasures was enjoying cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Morrell. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Morrell Johnson, and her son, Mark Morrell; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Her legacy lives on through the many generations who were touched by her love, creativity, and gentle spirit.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the compassion and care shown throughout Virginia's cancer journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Salem Health Foundation. This organization is affiliated with the American Cancer Society, which provided incredible support to Virginia and her family during her illness.
