Randy Morrell Obituary

Randy E. Morrell Sr.
Randy E. Morrell Sr., 69, of Prospect, passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2026, held in love, with his devoted wife Elner (Scott) Morrell by his side.
Randy was born on October 27, 1956, in Memphis, TN, a son of the late Leroy Morrell, Sr. and Lola Mae Dickerson. Raised in faith, he was quietly confident.
Randy graduated from Douglass High School and Lane College, where he earned his bachelor's degree, played varsity football and joined the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
After college, Randy proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He advanced to the rank of Storekeeper, a logistics, purchasing, and contract management specialist, which led to a lifelong career in Distribution Center Management. Randy especially liked managing warehouses at large-scale distribution centers, using cutting-edge automated inventory management systems. He retired from The Martin Brower Company in 2024.
Randy had a deep love for travel and adventure. He enjoyed cruising New England's scenic backroads on his Suzuki VL1500 Intruder and traveling extensively throughout Europe and locally with his beloved wife, Elner.
Physical fitness and wellness were important to Randy. He enjoyed competitive and spectator sports. He took great pride in maintaining his home and yard.
Randy was also famous among family and friends for his legendary BBQ ribs - stories of his days as an unofficial grill master were met with laughter and appreciation.
Over the past 30 years, Randy and Elner especially treasured quiet times at home, walking their dogs, Nala and Fancy, and exploring new places together. Elner's large extended family welcomed Randy as one of their own and loved him dearly.
Randy was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Noah Morrell, Sr.
Besides his wife, Elner, Randy is survived by his son Randy Jr., stepson Alexander Warr of New York (Yekaterina), and his cherished grandsons: Kieran, Avery and Kai. He is also survived by his brother Napoleon Morrell (Jackie) of Connecticut; sister Linda Gail Morrell-Mathes of Tennessee; brother Leroy Morrell Jr. (Patricia) of Georgia; sister-in law Melrose Morrell of Tennessee; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family is grateful for compassionate, person-centered support received from VITAS Healthcare's Middlebury Care Team.
Arrangements: Funeral Services will be led by Reverend Kelsey Hopson on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Randy will be buried with military honors immediately following services at New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Rd., Waterbury. Yesterday

Uncle Randy was strength wrapped in kindness, love spoken without needing words. His dimpled smile carried warmth, and his deep, familiar laugh felt like home. When he came to town, joy followed-every visit a celebration, every moment a gift. I loved him then, I love him still, and I will miss him for all my days. He was simply AMAZING!!
