Will Austin was born August 6, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late William Austin Sr. and Everlena R. Austin. He was born as a twin, with brother Wyatt. Will received his education from Chicago Park
Elementary School, Hollywood Elementary School, and graduated from Douglass High School in 1977, all in Memphis, Tennessee. Will accepted Christ at an early age, where he attended Lewis Street Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church, where he was ordinated under the
leadership of Rev. Otis Johnson, earning his nickname "Preacher" by others. Will never married, nor fathered any children of his own. He helped to care for his so many Niece's and Nephew's.
Will career started with part time work alongside with his Father decking houses, followed by The Piano Factory, and longtime at Hubbard's Hardware Store. A gifted artist, was a natural, though he remained humble about his abilities. Unfortunately, his career was cut short due to illness. Will was always willing to lend a helping hand and had love for his family and community.
Will loved Family, People's and didn't fuss, he let others be themselves. He absolutely loved Ms. Wade, Staff & Residents, and special friend A.J.
He loved visiting Fort Worth, Texas, his 2nd home, staying for months, where he formed cherished friendship, with Ms. Beverly, Mr. Calvin, Mrs. Elaine, Scoodie, & Greg. He loved drawing, and drinking coffee, saying, the best coffee makers, were Ms. Wade, Mrs. R., Bonnie, Ms. Beverly & his Sister.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, William Austin Sr. and Everlena R. Austin, his brothers, Henry, Curtis, Percy, Andrew, and other brother T H, and sisters, Daisy, Mary, and Alla, along with Brothers and Sister In Laws, and many Nieces and Nephews.
Will leaves his love to cherish, his brothers, William Jr. (Bonnie) Norvell, James, Wyatt, Kelvin (Ruby) and sisters, Dora, Dorothy, Dorothy Jean, Hattie (Craig) Eula, and other Sister In Law (Lizzie M) a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Niece's and Great Nephew's, Great-Great Niece's and Great-Great Nephew's, Cousins. Special place in his heart for his Sisters In Laws, Bonnie, Elaine, Ruby, and including Angela.
