Today, we gather to celebrate and honor the life of Virginia W. Procter, a beloved mother, friend, and faithful servant of God, who went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 12, 2025, at 10:50 AM.
Virginia was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, where she built a life marked by grace, devotion, and kindness. A proud graduate of Goldie Beacon College, she developed strong secretarial and administrative skills that would define her remarkable career.
Virginia dedicated an incredible 54 years of loyal service to ICI / AstraZeneca, where she served as secretary to the Vice President of the pharmaceutical division. Her professionalism, dependability, and warm spirit earned the respect and admiration of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Virginia's achievements extended far beyond her career.
She was a woman of deep faith and radiant spirit. Her love for Jesus Christ guided every part of her life, shaping her into the compassionate, generous, and steadfast woman we were all blessed to know. She lived her faith daily through her kindness, her patience, and her genuine care for others.
Virginia had many passions that reflected her gentle heart. She was an accomplished pianist whose music filled her home and lifted the spirits of those who listened. She loved God's creatures, especially birds, and shared a special bond with her beloved pet Quaker parrot, Buddy, who was her faithful companion for many years.
To those who knew her, Virginia was always friendly, caring, and thoughtful. She gave of herself freely, always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, or a comforting presence. Her smile could brighten any room, and her sincerity left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Most of all, Virginia was a devoted mother. Her son, Don Procter, was the joy of her life, and her love for him knew no bounds. She took pride in his every accomplishment and supported him with unwavering devotion and prayer.
Though our hearts ache with her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. The faith that guided her in life has carried her home to eternal rest and joy. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Virginia lived these words each and every day.
She will be deeply missed by her loving son, and by all who were blessed to know her.
Godspeed, Virginia. You are home...
