Virginia Sue Rudd, also known as Ginny, to most, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024, after a two-year journey with cancer and other medical complications. She gave it her best fight. Up until the end Ginny maintained her kindness, grace, love for family and friends and expressed gratitude for her life, a life full of wonderful and varied experiences. Throughout her life she always had a thirst for adventure and was willing to try most anything at least once. When Robert and her first started their journey, they enjoyed racing rally cars, after having children together spent a lot of time camping and off roading, and later in life Ginny loved tandem sky diving. She loved to laugh and everyone who knew her knew how much she loved talking and sharing all her life's adventures. One could hardly get in a word if she had something to share.
Ginny loved her husband, Robert John Rudd who passed away December of 1997, and was still in love and loyal to him until her death. Ginny's life can best be summed up by her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and her ability to give unconditionally. She was community minded and spent her retired years serving as a volunteer for the Heritage House, Riverside Museum, Fox Theater, Women's Assistance League and assisted in a food kitchen program in Riverside before she became ill. Her career was spent working in a local hospital as an LVN and then moving into the school system where she retired as an Instructional Assistant working in Special Ed. She loved the students and serving her community. Ginny continued to be active with the Red Hat Society, playing Bunko and Mexican Train with her dear friends and enjoying their company.
Ginny is survived by her children, Michelle Webb, Sandra Mortensen, Daniel Rudd & Donald Rudd and their spouses, Jim, Kenneth, Shelby and Julie. As well as her pride and joys, grand and great grandchildren and their families: Annie Webb, Jessica Hodgeson, husband, Paul, children Hannah and Lucas, Elizabeth Mortensen, Nicole Hubbard and husband, Joe, daughter Adelyne, and Megan Well, husband Larry children Jameson, Jaxson and latest addition born on July 4th Harper. For anyone that knew her family and birthdays she finally got her little firecracker. Ginny fought hard until Harper's birth then was more at peace to leave this world to reunite with her family and husband in heaven.
Ginny was so fond of her family of 6 brothers and 5 sisters and all the many generations of their children. She loved to share the tales of the family and in her later adult years traveled back whenever possible to all the family gatherings. Ginny joins in heaven Ray, Jerry, Art, Denny and Bill, all McSorley's, and her sisters Kassy Lanman, Patrica Thompson, and Jeanne Bartle. She is survived by Larry McSorley, Deanna Mc Donald and Jan Legge who will never forget the love and many joys she brought to their lives.
Services will be Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 10:00am at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA with a reception following. There will be a prayer service in her hometown church in Eau Claire at St James Catholic Church on Sunday, July 28th, at 1:00 pm located at 2502 11th St, Eau Claire, WI. Donations can be made to the Riverside Women's Assistance League in Riverside in her name in lieu of flowers.

So sorry to hear of Ginnys passing. I worked with her as a special education aideafew times. My daughter Melody worked with her. She was such a fun person. I have a fun memory of her. We had jury duty one day several years ago. This was when you clocked out. We both got dismissed early and were suppose to go back to work. Ginny decided lets just spend the day here, so we had lunch and spent the day riding the cable car. We clocked out at 5pm. It was a fun day with a fun person.

I was Virginia´s home health nurse Erica. We would see each other 3x a week and she would always answer the door with a big smile on her face and a "SHE´S HEEEERE!" Our talks, our laughs, the encouragement she gave me about the things I was going through or things she´s been through are the fondest memories I will forever keep with me. She is/was/ and always will be my favorite patient. She was a firecracker. That fighting Irish in her we would joke about... til the very end she only ever talked about her family and how lucky she was to have you guys. She just couldn´t wait for the baby to be born she talked everyday about it. We talked about one day visiting Ireland.. and what a dream it would be. She told me if I made it there one day to have a beer for her.. I will stick true to my promise.. one day I´ll be visiting Ireland and having a beer for you Virginia. Rest In Peace, I´ll miss you.
