Virginia Ann Shoemaker

Virginia Ann Shoemaker, 60, of Knightly Mill Road, Fort Defiance, died Friday, August 29, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center.

She was born September 2, 1947, in Rockingham County, Virginia, daughter of Lurty H. Ettinger and Kathleen Ettinger.

She worked with Vector Industries.

Virginia was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Ettinger; and her husband, James Huffman.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Robert Lee Ettinger of Waynesboro; two sisters, Linda Coe and her fiance', Glen Curry, of Stuarts Draft, and Nancy Batton of Stuarts Draft; one niece; two nephews; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; and two special caregivers, Paula Getz and Shelly Wade.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2008, at McDow Funeral Home.

A service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Tory Kiser, Richard L. Campbell, D.J. Campbell, and John Hanger.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta County SPCA, P.O. Box 2014, 33 Archery Lane Staunton, VA 24402.
