Virginia (Jennee) Simpson, 87 years old, Tulare, California, passed away on June 17, 2025

Virginia Ann Ray was born in Tulare, California on August 30, 1937, to Robert and Anna Ray. She was educated in Tulare schools and graduated from Tulare High School in 1955. She was always proud of her Tulare upbringing. In 1956 she married Malcolm Jameson, they had three children, Melinda, Jack and David, who she adored.

Jennee worked different jobs but one she really enjoyed was working as a secretary in the counseling office at Tulare Union High School. She loved her coworkers and impacted many students' lives throughout her years there. In 1982 she took on a second job at Town and Country Git N Go where she would meet the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Simpson. She would often recall the day Bob called her into the office and she thought she was getting "fired" but instead he asked her to dinner. After nervously shaking his hand and saying yes, the two fell in love and were married in 1989. Jennee and her "Bobby" traveled all over the world on trips to the Panama Canal, Mexico, Canada, numerous trips to Europe as well as the Central Coast. They loved traveling but mostly they just loved being together.

In 1984 Jennee was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was a proud 41-year survivor. She loved to participate in the local Relay For Life and would often say how thankful she was to be alive! Jennee loved gardening, dancing, photography, and any activity her grandchildren were involved in whether she understood the sport or not. She had a special relationship with each of her nine grandchildren who they affectionately called Grandma Jennee. Some of the best memories were spent in her beautiful backyard playing whiffle ball, drawing with sidewalk chalk and eating popsicles. She believed Pepsi could cure a stomachache and you should always eat dessert first especially if they were brownies and ice cream. When her great grandchildren came along, she changed her name to Gma, as only she could. She was a wonderful example of fun, love and spunk! She will be greatly missed.

Jennee is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Anna Ray and her brother, Ed Ray. Her beloved Bobby, her husband of 35 years, preceded her in death just a mere thirteen months ago. Jennee is survived by her daughter Melinda (Greg) VanHooser, son Jack (Andi) Jameson and son, David (Corry) Jameson. She was Grandma Jennee to nine grandchildren, Summer (Chris) Frediani, Heather (Danny) Lopes, Joseph (Shyannah) Jameson, Cassandra (Austin) Chambers, Wade (Josie) VanHooser, Spencer Jameson, Alanna (Austin) Moules, Lauren (Dustin) Coelho and Presley (Anthony) Moll. She is also survived by her 18 great grandchildren.
