Virginia (Hudson) Sonnenfelt went home to Heaven Friday, August 29th 2025 at the age of 90.
She was born in Alliance, Nebraska on November 11th 1934. She married Richard E. Sonnenfelt July 18th 1953.
They raised 3 daughters together AnolaGay, Deanna and Billie Jo.
She was very well known for her generosity, patience and cooking skills, especially her excellent fried chicken and delicious, from scratch, chocolate cake! She was admired by many for her excellent housekeeping skills and hardwork. Her favorite things to do were to spend time with her friends and family, including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Virginia was an avid fan of the Nebraska CornHuskers college football team! She also enjoyed playing cards, sewing, fishing, camping, and dancing the two-step and waltzes at the old country school dances where her husband often played guitar and sang.
Virginia is survived by her daughters AnolaGay Sonnenfelt, Deanna Lee Brown, and Billie Jo Herbert, 6 grandchildren Chad, Anessa, Alexa, Josh, Brandi and Cheri, 19 great grandchildren, her sisters Barbara and Mary Ann, and brothers Billy, Arthur and Bobby, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Eugene Sonnenfelt, her mother Marion Isabella (Tyler) Hudson, her father Orville Hudson her two sons Richard Eugene Sonnenfelt II, and Brian Keith Sonnenfelt, 3 sisters and one brother.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, including the many friends she made with the residents, nurses, CNA's, staff, and the St Gabriel's Hospice care team at the Bronte Health and Rehab Center in Bronte Texas where she passed away.
