Mrs. Virginia Ruth See Thompson, age 95, departed this life Friday evening May 23, 2025 in the Mountain Memories Care Facility at Elkins. She was formerly of Belington but for the past several years had made her home with her daughter, Mary in Elkins.

She was born August 19, 1929 at Valley Head, WV, a daughter of the late John Adam and Mary Etta Hamrick See. On March 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to Denzil Elton Thompson, who preceded her in death on November 25, 2023.

She is survived by one daughter; Mary Thompson of Elkins, nieces; Karen Boon and husband Ken, Donna Auvil and husband Clark, Christie Weese and husband Joe, Jane Riggleman and family, nephews; Steve Thompson and Jeff Thompson, one brother; Larry See and wife Judy of Norton. Several great nieces and great nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son; Jerry Thompson, one sister; Edith Ware, and one brother; Mason See.

Virginia attended the schools of Randolph County and was a faithful member of the Westside United Methodist Church in Belington. She formerly belonged to the Laurel Mountain Post #410 VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Barbour County CEOS. She loved to quilt, sew and cook and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside rites will be conducted on Thursday May 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm from the WV National Cemetery at Pruntytown with Lay-Speaker Larry See officiating. The family ask in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice, Condolences can be made to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Virginia Ruth See Thompson.
