Virginia Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home - Versailles Chapel on Feb. 19, 2026.
Virginia Hope Wright, age 84, of Gravois Mills, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at her home. She was born October 22, 1941, in Independence, Missouri, a daughter of the late Edward and Maxine (Brizendine) Haberkorn.

On October 14, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas, she was united in marriage to her surviving husband, Jack Wright.

She was a remarkably talented musician whose gift allowed her to play nearly any string instrument with ease, as well as the flute and piccolo. Music was more than a hobby, it was an expression of her spirit and creativity, bringing joy to all who heard her perform.

Her adventurous heart led her to find peace and wonder in scuba diving. She embraced the beauty of the natural world both above and below the water.

An accomplished photographer, she captured life's most breathtaking moments through her lens. Her talent earned her numerous contest awards, and her work was published in various travel guides and featured on magazine covers. Through her photography, she preserved memories and inspired others to see the world with curiosity and appreciation.

She will be remembered for her artistic soul, adventurous spirit and lasting impressions she left through her music and imagery.

In addition to her husband, Jack, she is survived by six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her brother, Floyd Haberkorn and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Dennis Wright and James Wright and a sister, Mary Ann Hart.

There are no services planned at this time. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Versailles.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
