Virginia Zachery, 91 of
Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 12:00 P.M.(Noon) at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church , 85 Shaw Street,
Kingston, Georgia 30145. The body will lie in state in the church from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Queens Chapel Cemetery, 105 Johnson Street,
Kingston, Georgia 30145. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
On December 7th, 2025, God called home His faithful daughter and servant, Virginia Stephens Zachery, at the age of 91. She was born on June 15th, 1934, to the late Tommy Stephens Sr. and Alice Cherry Stephens. Virginia grew up in
Kingston, Georgia, where she was educated in the Bartow County School System.
A devoted laborer, Virginia spent 22 years working at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in
Cartersville, Georgia, before retiring. She was known for her quiet spirit, warm heart, and dedication to her family and community. Virginia's cooking skills were renowned, and she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who shared her nurturing spirit with everyone she met.
Virginia's faith was an essential part of her life. She joined St. Paul Baptist Church in
Kingston, Georgia, at an early age, where she later continued her service after the church merged with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, now known as New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. At New Shiloh, she faithfully served in the kitchen ministry for many years, contributing to the church community that she loved.
Virginia was married to the late Frank Thomas Zachery Sr., with whom she shared a union blessed with seven children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Zachery Sr., her son Ronnie Zachery, her parents Tommy and Alice Stephens, and her siblings Mack Stephens, Tommy Stephens Jr., Arthur Stephens, John Stephens Jr., Eloise Hill, Delphia Langford, and Grace Ford. She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her children, Dora Barrett (Robert),
Cartersville, GA; Frank Thomas Zachery Jr., Marietta, GA; Roy Zachery (Beverly),
Kingston, GA; Evone Wells (Melvin), Saraland, AL; Sarah Solomon (Sidney), White, GA; and Leroy Zachery, Dallas, GA. She also leaves behind siblings, Jacqueline Favors, James Franklin Stephens (Glenda), and Samuel Stephens (Marie).
Virginia is survived by 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 30 nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply. Virginia's 91 years of life were a testament to love, service, and devotion, and she leaves a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
