Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service - Charlotte on Aug. 31, 2022.
Virginia "Ginny" Zinno passed into the Light on August 29, 2022 at the age of 75.
Ginny was born on March 30, 1947 in Montclair, NJ, the oldest daughter of John and Loretta Sosdian. She was raised in Neptune City, NJ with three younger brothers and attended St. Rose High School in Belmar. After graduating high school she found a love of nursing and attended St. Vincent Nursing College in New York City. While in nursing school she met her future husband Tony on December 6, 1966. They were married June 15, 1968 at St. Elizabeth s Church in Avon, NJ and shortly thereafter moved to Nyack, NY.
She gave birth to daughter Cara on Christmas day 1974 and a short 13 months later to a son Richard. Ginny devoted her time to her children and worked tirelessly to provide the best life for her Children and raise them in the Christian faith.
In 1978 she moved to Middletown, NJ and settled to raise a family at the Jersey Shore. Ginny loved the beach and would drag her kids to Spring Lake, Sandy Hook and Sea Bright every day during the summers.
Ginny stayed in nursing until her retirement as a Cystic Fibrosis nurse. She had a noble career and saw the struggles of families living with terminal illness, and perhaps, this is why she never complained about her struggles.
After 34 years in the same house, Ginny and Anthony retired to Charlotte, NC; happily enjoying retirement and spending time with their children and grandchildren since 2012. Ginny loved to travel with recent trips including: Alaska, British Columbia, Hilton Head, Lake Tahoe and the Caribbean creating memories and experiences that can never be erased.
Ginny was a loving soul and always tried her hardest to make others happy. She always cared deeply about other people s feelings and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was a devoted mother to Richie and Cara and wife to Anthony of 55 years. We give thanks to God for Ginny and celebrate a happy life lived. She will always be part of all those whose life she has touched and will be missed every day.
She was predeceased by her parents John & Loretta Sosdian and brother John P. Sosdian and is survived by her husband Anthony Zinno, children, Cara & Robert Price (Charlotte, NC) and Richard & Corinne Zinno (Charlotte, NC), brothers Thomas & Phyillis Sosdian (Naples, FL), Stephen & Quinn V Sosdian (Colorado Springs, CO) and grandchildren Emmanuel Price, Garrett Zinno, Maya Price and Justin Zinno.
