SOUTHINGTON, CT
VITTORIO "VICTOR" CIFALDI
"Loving husband, father, brother & uncle"
Vittorio ("Victor") Cifaldi of Southington, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 24, 2024. He was born on January 20, 1927, in Pontelandolfo, Italy, the son of the late Nicola and Vitangela (Mobilia) Cifaldi of Pontelandolfo. He married his beloved wife Vita Rinaldi on September 18, 1958, and together they moved from Italy to Waterbury, CT to build a new life together. They lived on Norris Street for over 60 years, surrounded by a tight-knit community of other Italian immigrants. He initially worked as a truck driver and at his family's liquor store and restaurant. He then spent most of his working life in industrial factories in Waterbury before retiring at the age of 67.
Victor was a man of integrity who lived selflessly and with strong values. He was a traditional man who was always dressed in slacks and a button-down shirt. He was never the loudest voice in the room, but he led quietly by example. Victor had a witty sense of humor and was always eager to engage in discussions about current events. He will be remembered for his tireless work ethic, which he instilled in his children and his grandchildren. He loved working in his garden that filled the backyard almost as much as watching the New York Yankees with his wife. Victor was a devout Catholic and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vita, his daughter Cindy (Mark) Hammond of Southington and his son Nick (Teresa) Cifaldi of Southington. He is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he adored, Dr. Jennifer (Josh Magid) Hammond, Ryan Hammond, Nicholas (Kaytee) Cifaldi, and Lindsey (Nate) Baldi, as well as his great-grandchildren Nickolas, Grayson, and Aivee Cifaldi. Victor will always be in their hearts. He was predeceased by his brother Giovanni Cifaldi and his sister Victoria Gianni (Cifaldi).
Victor's family would like to express their infinite gratitude for the personalized and dedicated care that he received from Dr. Kanagaratnam Jegathesan and Dr. Paul Kelly over the course of many years. They would also like to acknowledge the inpatient hospice team at The Hospital of Central Connecticut for the compassionate care that they provided.
Arrangements: Funeral services and burial are private and at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with assisting Victor's family with funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Victor's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
