Vivian Raley Barfoot, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on March 11, 1946, in Mobile, Alabama,Vivian was the daughter of the late Emmitt and Lillie Raley. She spent her professional life as an inspiring and beloved teacher and administrator at Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, Alabama. Vivian was incredibly passionate about educating children and creating a supportive place for teachers and students to thrive and grow.

Vivian was a devoted mother and grandmother. She lived the last ten years in Colorado with her daughter, Buffy and her family, Matt, Otis, and Coretta. Her son Benjamin died in 2004, and she cherished the memories of him. Vivian's greatest love in life was being close to her family. She was known for her quiet strength, kind heart, and profound faith.

In her free time, Vivian enjoyed needlepoint, cooking, beach trips, and playing with her grand- children. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her gentle guidance, her generosity, and her unwavering commitment to her community and family.

Vivian is survived by her daughter Buffy, her son-in-law Matt, her grandchildren Otis (9) and Coretta (5), her sister Paula Babb (Johnnie), her brother Wayne Raley (Patsy), and other beloved family members and close friends.

There will be two memorial services:

Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Longs Peak United Methodist in Longmont.

Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Montgomery Academy Lower School.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, Alabama or The Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Colorado.
