Vivian Seal Locklear

Vivian Seal Locklear, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Kitty Hawk, NC, on February 21, 2026, at the age of 63. Vivian Seal was born in Philadelphia in 1962. As the daughter of a Navy Officer, she spent her childhood moving up and down the east coast before settling on the Outer Banks. She has been a resident of Kitty Hawk for forty-five years.

Vivian draws her inspiration for her Art from nature, especially from flowers and the ocean. She loves to reflect on the beauty of the Outer Banks in her work. She is a self-taught artist who loves to try new ways to apply different mediums on a variety of canvases. Vivian loves beachcombing, gardening, and listening to music.

A graduate of Manteo High School in 1981, Vivian went on to attend Chowan University, where she furthered her education and prepared for a life dedicated to caring for others. Her professional life was spent in the nurturing field of childcare, where she worked as a nanny. She was known for her gentle spirit and the boundless love she showered upon her nieces and nephews, who were the light of her life.

Vivian was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn H. Seal.

She is survived by her father, Robert B. Seal, and her loving siblings: sisters Sylvia Seal (Tommy) of Grant, FL, and Cindy Seal (Mardy) of Raleigh, NC; brothers Ben Seal of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Forrest Seal (Rebecca) of Kitty Hawk, NC, and Keith Seal (Chris) of Kill Devil Hills, NC. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

In accordance with her wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor her life and legacy.
