Vivian Genoid Titus, age 74, of DeSoto, Texas, was called home to rest peacefully on December 14, 2025. Born on May 9, 1951, in Conroe, Texas, Vivian lived a life rooted in faith, service, love, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, resilience, and unwavering compassion.

Vivian was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a nurturing grandmother and great-grandmother, and a faithful friend. She was the beloved wife of Melvin Key and the proud mother of her sons, Kendal Titus (wife, Jonina) and George Woodley. Her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, Aija Walker, Brittany Titus, and Kendal Titus II, and her precious great-grandchildren, Harmoney, Kayden, and Kyrie. Family was her first ministry, and caring for those she loved was her greatest joy.

A graduate of Conroe High School, Vivian demonstrated perseverance and determination throughout her working years. Beginning her career as a custodian, she rose through dedication and hard work to become a respected apartment manager. She was known for her kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern for others, creating welcoming spaces where many residents became extended family.

Vivian was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and trusted Him throughout her life. She had been a faithful member of Inspiring Body of Christ Church in Dallas, Texas, since 2014. She found comfort and strength in reading her Bible, watching political programs, and spending quiet time in reflection and prayer. Her life reflected values of love, generosity, order, and a giving spirit.

Vivian enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and will be remembered for her joyful personality and warm presence. She was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan who loved shopping, dining out, and surrounding herself with comforting scents, candles, lotions, perfumes, detergents, and sweet treats. Many will forever remember her baking sweet potato pies while listening to Smokey Robinson’s “Cruisin’” and the soulful sounds of The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Betty Wright.

She cherished family gatherings and holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, the Fourth of July, and Memorial Day, when her home was filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. Vivian shared special bonds with many dear friends and loved ones, including Carolyn Johnson-Williams, Gwen Smith, Cleo Thompson, Gloria Booker, Earl Thompson, Lloyd Jones, Andrea Owen, and Josephine Kennedy, all of whom will miss her gentle spirit and kind heart.

Vivian Genoid Titus leaves to cherish her loving memory her mother, Phyllis Woodley; her sister, Mary White (husband, Alvin); her brother, Norris Woodley; her sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Woodley Sr.; her husband Melvin Key; her brother, Jimmy Woodley; her sister, Thelma Smith; and her brother, William Woodley Jr.

Though she has answered the Master’s call, Vivian’s love, faith, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Mother’s Love

by Helen Steiner Rice

A Mother’s love is something

that no one can explain,

It is made of deep devotion

and of sacrifice and pain,

It is endless and unselfish

and enduring come what may

For nothing can destroy it

or take that love away.

It is patient and forgiving

when all others are forsaking,

And it never fails or falters

even though the heart is breaking.

It believes beyond believing

when the world around condemns,

And it glows with all the beauty

of the rarest, brightest gems.
