Lantana, FLIn Loving Memory of Vonda Kaye "Boss Lady" Calvin Bramwell
Vonda Kaye Calvin Bramwell, affectionately known as "Boss Lady" or "Vonda with a 'V'," peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 58.
Life & Legacy
Vonda was born on March 10, 1967, in Rochester, New York, to Winifred Daniels and David Roberts. She was raised in Utica, New York, where she graduated from Utica Free Academy High School. From there, she began her life of caring service.
Early in her career, Vonda worked at the Masonic Home, and in 1992 she relocated to Boynton Beach, Florida. Passionate about healthcare and helping others, she spent many years as
a medical assistant and later found her true work home as a unit secretary at Bethesda Hospital East, where she served with dedication for 17 years.
Personality & Passions
Vonda was known for her infectious warmth, her meticulous attention to detail, and her fierce love for family and friends. She delighted in cooking-often discovering new recipes on YouTube or Facebook and serving perfect dishes for dinner parties. Among her specialties were sweet potato pie, cornbread, and macaroni salad. She also loved home decorating and eagerly anticipated fresh touches for her newly remodeled home.
Her laughter, her kindness, and her personal quirks-like yelling "shut her door before a lizard gets in" at parties, or ensuring everyone washed their hands before touching food-are memories that will continue to bring smiles. Her spirit made every occasion special, and she never missed an opportunity to show her love in small but meaningful ways.
Family
Vonda is survived by her beloved husband of 20 years, Claude Joseph Bramwell, her daughters Chant'e Herron, Shannon Dale (Willie), and her sons Kemar Bramwell, Ledon Bramwell (Sasha), and Sean Bramwell. She cherished her grandchildren: Zion Sanders, Malachi Bramwell, Lucas Bramwell, John Bramwell, Chase Bramwell, Star Dale, Myla Dale, Saige Bramwell, Summer Bramwell, and Araya Bramwell.
She is also survived by her mother, Winifred Daniels; siblings Celeste Williams, May Leonard, Tyrone Daniels, and Robert (Valerie) McLain; and her extended family, Joy Bramwell-Feddis, Lisa Bramwell, Christine (Douet) Stennett, Judy Bramwell-Kendall, Courtney (Pia) Bramwe.
Acknowledgments
A special thank you is extended to the medical team who cared for Vonda: Dr. Carlos Miniet Cespedes, Dr. Indira Marmolejos, Jose Ortega and staff, Dr. Todd Parnes, Candace Mirto, and the surgical teams and staff at UM Hospital, as well as the staff on 4N2 and 2EW at Bethesda Hospital East.
Vonda's favorite cousin, Monica Smith (her inherited sister), cousin-in-law Marilyn Johnson (Ava), and dear friend Keisha Sanderson offered her unwavering love and support.
A Final Note
Vonda's radiant kindness, laughter, and love were blessings that enriched so many lives. Her attention to detail, her devotion to family, and her joyful spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.
