Wilma Jean Pfeiffer quietly left us to be with her Creator on November 21, 2025. Jean was 86 years old and lived for 20 years in Lake Placid, Florida.
She was born on February 4, 1939 in Kenton, Ohio. Her parents were Vernon Pfeiffer and Eva Lenora Sloan also of Kenton. Jean grew up with two brothers, William and Larry and played in the marching band at Kenton High School, where she met Clifford Jump whom she later married.
The two raised four children: Gregory Jump, Sarita (Fred) Featherly, Steven (Robin) Jump, and Donald (Michelle) Jump. They lived in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Battle Creek, Michigan, to Okemos, Michigan and finally Williamston, Michigan. Avid Ohio State Fans, they attended Ohio State University and had many tail gates and fun parties with friends in both Ohio and Michigan.
As life happens, she divorced and left the family farm in Williamston. She worked in Lansing at Bud Kouts Chevrolet and also spent time as a travel agent helping others with their travel plans.
Jean was a crafter! We are amazed by all the clothes hangers she so carefully wrapped in colorful yarn, and we all have these hangers in our closets to this day.
Jean had so many friends at the American Legion Post 25 in Lake Placid! She was the entertainment director and loved a good band! She was especially fond of the Commander of the American Legion, Fred Pierce and all her American Legion family.
Jean is survived by her children and grandchildren, Ashley (Shannon) Whaley, Kelsey (Jacob) Weyhing, Nikolai Jump, Ryan (Maxine) Jump, Courtney (Nathan) Weyhing, Isaak Jump, Marcus (Marta) Featherly, and Sara (Nick) Barnes. She had 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Jean will join her family at the Grove Cemetery in Kenton, Ohio. Thank you all for your prayers and words of kindness to our family during this time of sadness, but also great memories we all had with our mom. When we see her again in heaven, we are sure she will greet us with a holler, “Yellow”!
