W. Louis “Lou” Nagy, of Fawn Township passed away peacefully at Platinum Ridge following a brief illness. Lou proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, with service in the Pacific, including Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. He was known for his exceptional mechanical skills and remarkable ability to solve problems, talents that earned him the admiration of many.

Following his retirement, he continued his dedication to service as a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. During this time, he served as Flotilla Commander and later as Division Captain for the Pittsburgh region.

One of his greatest sources of pride was his lifelong commitment to the Fawn Township #2 Fire Company for 76 years. A charter and life member, he was the last surviving charter member and served for 40 years as Chief Engineer. Lou was an invaluable resource, generously sharing his extensive knowledge of pumps and fire apparatus and helping ensure the safe operation of the department’s equipment.

Lou enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and camping.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Ann (Hill) Nagy. His parents Louis and Gladys (Ohl) Nagy. He is survived by his children, Dr. Louis Nagy of Fawn Township and Dr. Lori Nagy of Homer City, his brother Dave Nagy of Gillette WY, and in-laws Dr. David and Nancy Hill of Danville, CA. He was also deeply proud of his granddaughters, Megan Bozzer, Esq (fiancé Bryan Kelly) of York, Pennsylvania, and Morgan Nagy of Homer City and would tell of their accomplishments to anyone within earshot.

Visitation and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Fawn Township #2 Fire Company.
