W. Preston Roberts, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on February 22, 2024. He was born on December 14, 1941, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Walter P. Roberts, Sr. and Geraldine Elizabeth Dismukes Roberts.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2024, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Funeral services honoring the life of Preston will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, located at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, 1050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Father Mark Watson and Father Earl Provenza. Interment will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. Honoring Preston as pallbearers will be Brandy Roberts, Sean Staggs, David Todd, Randy Jordan, Corky Deavers, and Paul Brownlee. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be John Herrin, Al Taglavore, Al Kline, J.A. Clark, Glynn Whitten, Bruce Blanke, and Harold Kempkes.
Preston graduated from high school and college. Over the years, he worked for several different businesses including Wholesale Groceries, Meat Salesman, and proud owner of Preston’s Beef Palace. He enjoyed dancing with his wife and being involved with supporting their son in music. He loved his boys, church, and God and offered crosses to everyone he met.
Preston was preceded in death by his parents, W.P. Roberts, Sr. and Geraldine Roberts, and his sister, Louise Melander. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandra C. Roberts, and sons, Troy A. Roberts and Brandy Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at Christus Highland Cancer Center for the care, love, and support provided to Preston.
