WALMER THEODORE "TED" GAY III, 66, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
A native of Johnstown, PA, Ted was a son of Nancy Weyant Gay and the late Walmer Theodore Gay, Jr.
After completing his college education, Ted embarked on a successful career as a structural engineer with Parsons Corporation, where he dedicated over 20 years of service in Charlotte, NC, before relocating to Aiken, SC, in 2004.
Ted was known for his vibrant spirit and was affectionately nicknamed "Deadly Tedly" among his friends at the Cork & Bull, where he enjoyed playing darts. He was also a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, sharing his passion for the team with those around him.
Ted is survived by his beloved mother, Nancy; his four children, Joshua Gay, Erica Wills, Lindsay Smith, and Lauren Moye; and his grandchildren, Kai and Anthony Wills, Chase Schompert, MacKenzie Gay, and Jaxon Daniel. He is also remembered by his sister, Rebecca Gay-Gregory (William), his brother, David Gay (Robyn), and his close friend, roommate, and caretaker, Dave Channel.
In honoring Ted's wishes, no local service will be held.
