Wade Newton Snipes

Wade Newton Snipes, 92, of Mebane, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Alamance Regional Hospital in Burlington. He was born on May 7, 1933 to the late John Robert Snipes and Lelia Newton Justice Snipes. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cannada Snipes.
Wade grew up Chatham County and graduated from Silk Hope High School. He started his career at his uncle's car dealership in Pittsboro, where he discovered a lifelong passion for the automotive industry. Through dedication and hard work, he advanced to parts manager and service manager in numerous dealerships throughout his career.
In 1951, he married Margaret and welcomed two beautiful daughters Kaye and Carolyn. Tragically, Margaret passed away at a young age. Later, he met Marie Williams, who became the love of his life for 66 ½ wonderful years. Together, they shared an adventurous spirit, traveling extensively in their motorhome and proudly visiting all 50 states and Canada. Their journeys were filled with cherished memories, new experiences and lasting friendships.
Wade loved spending time with his family and friends and was known for his enjoyment of simple pleasures. One of his favorite pastimes was going out for breakfast, especially savoring a Hardee's pork chop biscuit. He was a faithful member of New Sharon Church and valued his church family deeply.
Wade will be remembered for his kindness, love of life and devotion to those he held dear. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Mr. Snipes is survived by his wife, Marie Williams Snipes; daughters, Kaye Nagy (Richard), Carolyn Snipes; grandchildren, Jason Bullock (Kat), Wade Nagy (Tiffany), Blair McDonald Welborn (Spencer) and Cole McDonald (Peggy). He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 2:00 pm at New Sharon Church Cemetery with the Pastor Kong Namkung officiating. A visitation will be held after the service in the church fellowship hall.
