Wade Torrence Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by B.E. Brown & Co Mortuary on Feb. 26, 2026.
Wade Danard Torrence was born November 20,1957 to Lessie B. Torrence in Mobile, AL. He was the third of four children. On Thursday, February 11, 2026 he transitioned peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Wade received his education through the Mobile Public School System attended Ben C. Rain High School, where he spent his formative years. In 1978, he moved to Buffalo, NY, to work briefly with his uncle Leon. Shortly thereafter, he joined Destro Brothers Trucking, dedicating many years to the company under the guidance of two generations of leadership, before ultimately retiring from Occhino Corp.

Wade was a warm-hearted, fun loving individual who deeply valued his family. Each year, he would make the journey from Buffalo to Mobile to celebrate "Mardi Gras", a tradition he cherished until his health no longer allowed him to do so. The legendary trips he took with his cousin, Allen created priceless memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. As cousin Dana would say, "Wade lived his life his way!"

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lessie Torrence (affectionately known as "MaDear"); his brother, Charles Torrence; and his youngest brother, Keith Torrence.

Wade leaves beautiful and precious memories which will be cherished by his devoted friend, Donna Walker of Buffalo, NY; his son, Bryant Harris of Syracuse, NY; his daughter, Erica Johnson of Buffalo, NY; five beloved grandchildren: Lyndon, Anyla, Jayso'n, Jayda, and Kymani; one sister, Youhon (Curtis) Dewberry of Columbus, GA; three aunts: Florence Waller and Lettie Harris both of Mobile, AL, and Betsy Barleston of Buffalo, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
