Wallace P. Boudet Jr. was born on January 7, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Covington, Louisiana. He filled the lives of those around him with warmth, laughter, and countless cherished memories. A proud resident of the New Orleans Westbank, he later found joy in the serene beauty of Pearlington, Mississippi, where he spent some of the happiest years of his life. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by the love and support of his family in Covington.
Wally, as he was affectionately known, was a proud graduate of St. Aloysius High School and furthered his education at Loyola University, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by kindness and generosity. As a founding member of the Lucky 13 Social Club and a charter member of the Bayou Teal and Trout Hunting Club, Wally forged lasting friendships and created joyful memories that would last a lifetime.
He leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward his spirit. His devoted wife of 64 and a half years, Joycelyn Budge Boudet who will miss him dearly. Wally was a devoted father to Cheryl Boudet Hambacher (Tim), Wallace Boudet III (Lynnette), and Brent Boudet (Glenda), whose lives were enriched by his guidance and love. He embraced his role as a grandfather with pride and tenderness, reveling in the joy brought by Kimberly Hambacher Leake (Jared), Holly Hambacher York (Rob), and Eric Boudet. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Grayson York, whose playful spirit mirrored his own. He also leaves behind his siblings, Bill Boudet (Cathy), Stephanie Boudet Drewes (Clay), Henry Boudet, sister-in-law Janet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Wally's legacy is not only defined by the bonds of blood but also by a network of friendships that spanned decades. He was a kind and nurturing presence in the lives of those lucky enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wallace Peter Boudet Sr., his mother, Frances Gagliano, and his brother, Robert Boudet, as well as his sister-in-law Darlene Boudet.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on March 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Mass at 2:00 PM. Both gatherings will take place at the tranquil Saint Joseph Abbey, located in Saint Benedict, Louisiana.
As we celebrate the life of Wallace P. Boudet Jr., we reflect on the compassion he shared and the joy he brought to every gathering. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched, and he will forever remain in our hearts.
