Les Embry, 78, of DeSoto, passed away peacefully July 20, 2024. He was born in Sikeston, Missouri, on September 12, 1945, to the late James Wallace and Lenoka Belle (Arbuckle) Embry. Les was a member of the Bonne Terre Church of Christ.
Les proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne in the United States Army. He was the owner of Maytag in Desloge for many years. Les loved to fix things, he would lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved his family and especially his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 53 years, Rose (Weir) Embry; grandson, Ethan Hughes; son-in-law, Allen Baranovic; one brother and five sisters.
Les is survived by his wife, Linda Faye (Johns) Embry; Dad to, Tammy Baranovic, Melissa Embry, Heather Coulter (Colten), Jared Embry (Erin); stepchildren, Tina Mudd (Michael) and family, Kimberly Mooney (Jeff) and family, Terry Williams (Kathy) and family; Paw Paw to, Brittany Wade (Steven), Holly Baranovic, Larissa Mraz (Jacob), Victoria Trautman (Tyler) Colin Hughes, Carson Hughes, Kelly Coulter, Rosie Coulter, Macy Embry, Jack Embry, Cruz Embry; Great-Paw Paw to, Scout Wade, Rowan Wade, Landry Wade, Winnie Wade, Gabe Mraz, Ben Mraz, CeCe Mraz, Percy Trautman, and Dean Trautman, also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
A Memorial visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10:30 AM until time of service at noon. Reverend Randy Murphy will be officiating. Memorials may be made in his honor to the Bonne Terre Church of Christ and also to Christian Family Services, 7955 Big Ben Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63119.
