Wallace Mangham Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burden's Funeral Home - Griffin on Feb. 22, 2026.
Mr. Wallace Mangham was born on April 19, 1942, to the late Charlie Mangham and the late Lorena Ballard Mangham in Williamson, Georgia. Wallace received his formal education at Pike Consolidated High School in Concord, Georgia.

Wallace accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, and joined Fuller Chapel United Methodist Church in Zebulon, Georgia. Wallace was employed by Ford Motor Company as an Assembler for several years.

Wallace Mangham departed this earthly life on February 12, 2026, at Select Specialty LTAC Midtown in Atlanta, Georgia. He resided at Upper Riverdale Nursing Home from May 2019 until February 2026.

Wallace proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he earned distinction as a sharpshooter, achieving Expert Rifle status with the M14, as well as proficiency with pistols, including the .45 caliber. His service was rendered honorably.

A man who loved the soil and the simple joys of life, Wallace found great pleasure in growing a garden until his health declined. He delighted in sharing the fruits and vegetables he grew with friends and even strangers throughout Zebulon, Georgia. Wallace also enjoyed listening to R&B music and admiring vintage cars.

Wallace was deeply grateful for the love and devotion shown to him by his brother, Floyd, and his sister-in-law, Veronica. They faithfully visited him to keep him company, offering comfort, conversation, and companionship throughout his later years. Floyd and Veronica also assisted Wallace with various errands and ensured his needs were met by providing necessary supplies. He especially looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed Veronica's home-cooked meals, which were always prepared with love and brought him great comfort and joy.

He is survived by his brother, Floyd Mangham, and sister-in-law, Veronica Mangham; his sister, Grace Mangham Fain; his niece, Avis Pitts and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. He also leaves behind one daughter, Kimberly L. Keels, of Flint, Michigan.
