He was born on July 29, 1937, in Bluebell, Utah to Wallace J and Garda Goodrich Seeley.

He married Beatrice Angus on August 15, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple. After graduating from Utah State University, Dal and Bea moved to the Salt Lake area. Although the residence changed, they remained in the Salt Lake Valley for the rest of his life.
Dal spent more than 30 years as a shop teacher at Riverview and Hillcrest Jr. High Schools in the Murray School District. Dal loved working with wood. The house was always full of various wood projects. After retiring from teaching, he continued to take classes at Salt Lake Community College and participated in various woodturning groups.
Dal loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served in a variety of callings throughout his life. He especially loved working in the Temple. He and Bea worked for many years in the Jordan River Temple until it closed for remodeling.
