Wally Charles Jerke

HAZELTON - Waldo Charles Jerke, an amazing Christian who loved the Lord, family, and friends.
Wally passed away on June 11, 2024 from complications from an aneurism. The staff at the hospitals in Soda Springs and Portneuf Medical Center gave Wally excellent and loving care.
Wally, born November 10, 1945, in Wendell to Norma and Paul Jerke. He was the third of four sons. Wally attended schools in Jerome and Wendell graduating from high school in 1965.
In 1966 Wally married Dolores Robinson and they had two sons, Jan and Blaine. Wally dearly loved his sons. Wally and Dolores later divorced.
Wally lived in Soda Springs, worked at Monsanto, then farmed in the Magic Valley, and worked at the Wendell School District until retirement.
In 1986 Wally met and married Kathy. They had a lifetime commitment to one another. Wally gained a daughter, Lisa, who was six and he loved her very much.
Wally loved playing the guitar and playing music in church. He loved spending time with his brothers, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Wally is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children: Jan (Denise), Blaine (Karlin), Lisa (Cevin); his grandchildren: Amanda Hepworth (Dustin), Jessica Nicholls (Chad), Zak Jerke, Ryan Oettinger (Andrea), Jules Jerke (Mark), Shill Mountz (Ryan), Zach Oettinger, Sydnee Jerke, Drake Jerke; his great-grandchildren: Corbyn, Aedyn, Holdyn, Emersyn, Wyatt, Emmett, Brinley, James and Silas; his brothers: Paul (Cappy) and Marion (Sue); nieces and nephews: Rod, Cyndi, Shellie, Curt, Randy, Vickie, Louisa, and Nathan; and his many great-nieces and nephews.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Norma, brother, Norman and Norman's wife, Martha.
Graveside services will be held on July 26, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wendell, Idaho Cemetery. A dinner will follow the service at the American Legion Hall in Wendell.
Arrangements are under the care of the Anderson Family Funeral Home.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear about Wally passing away. I was talking to Aunt Cappy after Uncle Paul died and she told me that Wally had died. Such a sad time. I hope and pray that you are comforted in the love of our Savior Jesus Christ. Linda Ashley Lunderman
