Today we celebrate the life of Brother Walter C. Bebley Jr. (93). Brother Bebley was born February 19, 1932, in Indianapolis Indiana. He was the oldest child of Walter C. Bebley Sr. and Lillian Bebley (Thurman).

Walter graduated Crispus Attucks High School on June 3, 1949. He was an active participate of the basketball team. After high school Walter began working for Kingan & Company Meat Packing Plant. Later, Walter went on to work for one of the leading car manufacturing plants General Motors. Here he worked as a skilled welder electronic operator. While working at General Motors he also met his wife, Elaine Bebley. They were married on November 21, 1981. They were married for more than 44 years. He worked for General Motors 41 years and retired in 1995.

Brother Walter Bebley was an active member of Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church. He was Baptized at Zion on April 12,1998 and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost on May 7,1998. He was then fellowshipped into Zion on May 10, 1998, under the leadership of the late Bishop Joseph Farris. Brother Bebley had a passion for singing and was an active member of the Zion Tabernacle Choir. In the choir he received multiple awards for his dedication and commitment. Brother Bebley had a helping heart and was always willing to serve at the church. He assisted the choir and painted the choir room. He also helped clear the land behind Zion for the Joseph D. Farris Senior Home. At Zion Brother Bebley was a member of the Brotherhood Auxiliary where he was an Honoree for the black-tie banquet. Brother Bebley was also faithful to the Wednesday Bible Classes at Nora Commings and the Tuesday Bible Classes held at Zion Tabernacle. He also visited the sick and shut in saints at nursing homes in his spear time. When his health failed him, he was faithful in attending the parking lot service held on Sundays at Zion.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents Walter C. Bebley Sr. and Lillian Bebley (Thurman), his brother Paul Bebley, his sister Joyce White (Husband Frank White) and his son Mark Bebley.

Walter was survived by his wife, Elaine E. Bebley; his children, Walter C. Bebley III, Pamela Street (Gregory Street-Deceased), Rodney Bebley (Jennifer Bebley) , Marla Ware, Jewell Pearson Jr, and Lelia Bebley; his brothers, Michael Bebley (Donna Bebley) and Fredrick Bebley; his sister, Sylvia Barnett; brothers-in-law, Ralph Thomas (Thelma Thomas), Ronald Thomas ( Wanda Thomas- Deceased) and Frank White (Joyce White- Deceased); sisters-in-law, Virginia Bradford (Melvin Bradford Sr. - Deceased), Ruth Eubank (Paul Eubank), Barbara Thomas (Robert Thomas- Deceased), and Cathy Thomas (Floyd Thomas- Deceased); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Brother Walter Bebley passed on from labor to reward December 12, 2025, in his home. He will be truly missed.
