Walter Charles Bolek, age 94, of Massillon, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born October 30, 1930, in Canton, the son of the late Louis and Mary (Selko) Bolek. Walter was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He had been employed with the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for 36 years before retiring in 1990. Walter was a veteran of the US Navy, he served during the Korean Conflict, while in the Navy he traveled worldwide. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, had a love for animals, and most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
On September 14,1956 Walter married Donna M. (Byers) Bolek who preceded him in death in 2013. Survivors include his children, Jodi (Andy) Sedlak, Jill (Timothy) Stuthers, and Greg (Kimberly) Bolek; his grandchildren, Brandon Stuthers, Rachel Stuthers, Tristan Stuthers and Maddy (Kye) Bresson; along with his brothers, Robert (Sandy) Bolek and John (Carol) Bolek.
In addition to his parents and wife, Donna, Walter was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Bolek; and brothers, Frank Bolek and William Bolek.
Funeral services will be held at Reed Funeral Home CANTON Chapel on Monday, December 23, 2024. Friends and family are welcome to visit at 10:00 AM, followed by services at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Amy Downard officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Walter's memory to Crossroads Hospice 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr. Suite E, Uniontown, OH. 44685.
