Walter Breeding Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 4, 2025.
Walter Ben "Hank" Breeding, Jr. was born 31 August 1942 in Mathis, to Walter Ben and Lilla Christine French Breeding. His dad always teased him saying, that he was blown in by a hurricane, this turns out this was the same hurricane that blew the turrets off the Goliad County Courthouse! He went to be with his Master, Lord and Savior on 30 August 2025.

Hank had many jobs in his lifetime, but his main job was introducing his friends and family to Christ. He always wanted, no demanded you to meet HIS Lord! He had a firsthand knowledge of who is and what He had done for Hank. There was no gray area in his belief and if you didn't see it, then Hank would pray endlessly for you.

Hank retired from the Texas Department of Corrections in 2002, moving to Goliad in 2015.

He leaves his wife of 47 wonderful years, Lynda McCarn Breeding, sister, Lilla Beth Breeding McCarn, cousin, Jimmy Dean Dreibelbis of San Juan, Texas, four nieces and 2 nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, in-laws Hugh and Billie Phillips McCarn, bothers-in-law, Donald McCarn, Sr., Bobby McCarn, Don McCarn, Jr. and nephew, Dennis McCarn.

Graveside Services will be held at a later date at the Pawnee Cemetery, Pawnee, Texas.

Lynda I am so sorry to hear of Hank's passing; but I know he is experiencing inexpressible joy in the arms of his Savior. I didn't know y'all had left Madisonville (I moved from there in 2012). He spent many an hour teaching me about bees. May God comfort you as only He can in this difficult time.
