Walter Sitting Dog

Funeral service for Walter Sitting Dog, 59, of McIntosh, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Brown District Building in Little Eagle. Walter's family and friends will gather at Kesling Funeral Home Thursday April 10th at 3 pm ct and will leave at 3:30 pm.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Brown District Building in Little Eagle with a wake service to begin at 7:00 PM. Walter will be cremated and burial will be at a later date. Kesling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Walter Raymond Sitting Dog passed away on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Walter was born on October 1st, 1965 in Fort Yates, ND to Bernice (Little Bear) and Joel Sitting Dog. He grew up in McIntosh, SD with his 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
In 1985 he met and married his lifelong sparring partner Anna Shoots The Enemy. To this union they had 2 daughters the late Roxana and Marissa and son Dillon. Walter was a well loved son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, dad, and friend. He had a great sense of humor and he enjoyed joking around with everyone. Walter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, listening to music.
He's survived by his wife Anna Shoots The Enemy, his daughter Marissa (Mark) Sitting Dog, his son Dillon Sitting Dog, his stepchildren George and Angela Shoots The Enemy. His sisters Linda Derockbraine, Arlene Miner, Dorothy (Chico) Baker, Loretta (Rico) Marquez. His Brother Robert (Shelley) Sitting Dog. Grandsons Ajilon Bendickson, David Sitting Dog, Amos Elk Nation and granddaughter Pearl Elk Nation.
He's preceded in death by his daughter Roxana Sitting Dog, his parents Joel and Bernice Sitting Dog, his brother Mark Sitting Dog, granddaughter Jakayla Haywood and many more too numerous to name.
