Mr. Walter R. Florentino, Jr., age 71, of Lynn, died on Friday, May 2nd.
Born in Boston and raised in Saugus, Walter was the son of Angelina (Feudo) and the late Walter Florentino of Saugus. A resident of Lynn for the past 25 years, he was a former jet engine mechanic at the G.E. Walter was a member of the Saugus High School Class of 1973 where he played football. He was a devoted Patriots fan. He served in both the U.S. Air force and Marines.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Florentino is survived by his three daughters, Angela Florentino and her husband Kenji Foley of Lynn, Kristina McCarthy and her husband Michael of Melrose and Janine Florentino and her fiancé Joseph Penza of Saugus; five grandchildren, Nathaniel, Julian and Miles McCarthy, and Haley and Ashley Foley; one great grandchild, Olivia Welch; one sister, Julie Mitchell and her husband Jeff of Saugus; and his nephew and nieces Kurt, Ashley, Brittnay and Victoria. He was predeceased by his sister Linda Florentino.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's memory may be made to the American Lung Association at lung.org.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 2 p.m.

So sad to hear of Walter's passing. He was a football teammate of mine, in high school. I remember him for his friendliness, good nature, and his speed as a running back.
