Walter E. Fritz Walter Eugene Fritz 79, of Indianapolis, passed away March 26, 2009. He was born August 25, 1929, in Freistatt, MO. to Arthur and Selma Fritz. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war and then worked at Allison's Gas Turbine retiring in 1995. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Carmel, IN. Walter had a lifelong love of aviation and was active in the Hendricks County Pilots Association and the E.A.A. Chapter 67 in Noblesville. In 1973 he obtained his Pilots License and then enjoyed flying for the next 35 years. Thru the years he also built and rebuilt many aircraft. Survivors include wife, Ramona; children, Scott (Sandy) Crull, Victor (Karen) Fritz, Brian Crull, Marcia Garceau and Jill McKinion(David); 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at Conkle Funeral Home, Avon Chapel, with calling there from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 29. A private family burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Indianapolis after the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Hendricks County Pilots Association and/or E.A.A. Chapter 67. A special thanks and appreciation is given to the ACC staff at Methodist Hospital for the exceptional care given.
