Walter Gansz Obituary
August 23, 1971 - January 2, 2026
Walter P. Gansz passed away far too young, on January 2nd, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him always. Walter was the beloved son of Holly and Philip Gansz and devoted brother to Andrew (Jessica) Gansz, proud uncle to Mason (13), Elizabeth (11), and Miles (7), and a great friend to many.
Walter was a graduate of SIU and went on to start his career in District 64 where he completed 32 years of service.
Walter was always willing to help friends, lend a hand, and asked nothing in return. Walter has a deep passion for motorcycles and racing events. He spent endless hours working in his garage, enjoying the club house at Cedar Lake and was a regular Road America attendee during racing season. He will be remembered for his love of family, his generous heart, and the joy he brought to all around him.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, January 11th, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, IL. Interment private.

I know Walt through working at D64. I am so saddened by this news. My co-worker and I use to say Walt was a genius! He could figure out any situation or problem. My sincere condolences to his family. It was a privilege to know Walt. May he rest in the arms of Jesus.
