Walter Herbst Obituary
After emigrating from Canada he worked as a machinist for Burndy Corp in Norwalk, retired from Omega Engineering in Stamford, and enjoyed part-time work at the New Canaan YMCA.
He enjoyed travel with his wife Jacqueline, socializing with friends, playing tennis and spending time with his trusty companion, Daisy the cat.
Walter is survived by his son John Herbst and his wife, Alexandra, his granddaughter, Rosie, his brother Sigfried, sister Steffi and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
He made a lasting impact on people who knew him and was always remembered for his warm smile and hearty laugh.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept 25, from 5-7PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, with a prayer service will begin at 6:30 PM
