Walter Lamar "Jim" James Jr

Walter Lamar James Jr., known to all as Jim, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born in Havre de Grace, Jim was a lifelong resident of Dublin, a community he loved and served faithfully throughout his life. He dedicated his career to public service as a firefighter with Baltimore County, and his commitment to helping others extended well beyond his profession. Jim was also a lifelong member of the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company, where he built lasting friendships and answered the call whenever he was needed.

Above all, Jim was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband of 58 years to Linda, a proud father to Carie and Jay, brother to Muff and cherished grandfather to Kayla, Austin, Carter, Claire and Judd,. Those closest to him knew him as steady, dependable, and quietly strong-someone whose presence brought reassurance and warmth.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Jane James.

Friends and family are invited to gather in his memory at Evans Funeral Home in Forest Hill on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
