Walt Janec

Walter Stanley Janec, 82, passed away January 10, 2023 at his home in Monroe. He was born November 21, 1940 in Lewiston, Maine to Walter Stanley and Rosabell Small Janec. He married Rose Marie Pinezaddleby in September 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Walt served in the United States Navy and volunteered for numerous extra dutys in military and special missions.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and always found peace in nature.
He was an accomplished runner. In high school Walt won numerous cross-county events, and continued running in 5K, 10K, and marathons until age 65. Later in life he enjoyed walking and hiking in nature.
Walt loved living in Utah and most of all, he loved his family.
Survived his by his wife, Rose; children: Charlene Pinezaddleby, UT; Jack (Ruth) Janec, CA; Howard (Edith) Janec, CA; Paulene (Michael) Whitney, AZ; 6 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Richard Floyd Janec.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 4th Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery with military honors by the Sevier Valley American Legion Post #37 and Navy Honor Guard.
