Walter Kubly Obituary
June 10, 1931 - December 10, 2025
Walter Jacob Kubly, age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 10, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born on June 10, 1931, in Monticello to the late Florence Kubly. Walter graduated from UW Platteville State Teacher's College and also obtained his Masters degree from UW Madison. He taught high school in Tomah and Spring Green before teaching in Sun Prairie for 30 years. Walter was also a funeral director at Cress Funeral Home for many years. He served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Naomi Miller on June 10, 1955.
Walter is survived by his children: Eric Kubly, LaVonne (John) Beske and Scott (Renee) Kubly; grandchildren: Joshua (Monica), Melissa Thomas and Kristin McComb; great-grandchildren: Brayden, Arabella, Liam, Dashel, Tayber and Zach.
Walter had many hobbies like polka dancing, gardening, walking, biking, travelling, model railroading, fishing, playing steel guitar, spending time with family, "coaching" son Eric in Special Olympics.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Naomi; and a great-granddaughter, Peyton.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at OUR SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH, 550 Lincoln Dr. Sun Prairie with Pastor Rick Bursh presiding. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service at the church on Thursday.
