Walter Lee McCann, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on July 19, 1943, in Cincinnati, he lived a life marked by dedication, generosity, and a passion for helping others.
Walter worked as a Salesman for MRO Supplies, where he cultivated lasting connections and built friendships through his work. His engaging personality and unwavering commitment to service left a notable impact in both his professional and personal life.
A devoted family man, Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sandra McCann, and his three sons, Wally (Nancy) McCann, Kevin (Shari) McCann, and Randy (Elizabeth) McCann. The legacy of love continues through his grandchildren: Michael (Anne), Diana, Connor, Nathan, Izabelle, Joseph, Jenna, Christopher, and Kyle who will forever hold onto the memories of their grandfather's kindness, laughter, and encouragement.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan "Rudy" McCann and Odessa McCann.
Walter was deeply involved in his community. He held the esteemed position of Boy Scout Leader with Troop 30, shaping the lives of many young boys through mentorship and guidance. He was also an active member of the Westwood Methodist Church and served as past president of the Covedale Athletic Association. Walter's love for the outdoors found a haven in the Buckeye Flyfishing Club and the Fairfield Gun Club, where he participated in skeet leagues alongside friends. His passion for sports extended to coaching basketball, baseball, and soccer, where he instilled teamwork and perseverance in all who played under his watch.
A proud contributor to the Monfort Heights and White Oak Community Associations, Walter was a firm believer in the power of community engagement. His spirit of service and leadership will be profoundly missed by those whose lives he enriched.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the RED line).
