Walter “Buck” LeRoy Owens, 91, of Aledo, Illinois, died Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Tennessee.

Visitation is 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, Illinois, immediately followed by burial at Rock Island National Cemetery. Luncheon will be announced at the service. Flower Donation for the main spray can contact Michelle Moyers or Robert Owens.

Buck was born March 5, 1934, in Hawkins County, Tennessee to Robert and Myrtle Owens. He married his true love, Patricia J. Owens, on August 23, 1974, in Danville, Illinois.

Walter was in the Army during 1952- 1954 and served in the Korean War in Germany, Walter retired after 30 years at J.I Case in 1990. Walter was a member of UAW 807.

He loved sports of all kinds, but his favorite teams were Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Chiefs. Walter was a Christian man that loved his gospel and old country music. He had a love for his pets, the zoos and beaches, but most of all his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Walter is survived by his children, Michelle Moyers and Robert Owens; his stepchildren, Rich (Willis), Thomas (Willis), Laura (Dave Stearman), and John (Pam Wheeler). He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his sister, Joyce.

He was preceded in death by his soul mate, wife Patricia J Owens; his parents; brothers, Earl, Eddie, Ronald and Larry Owens; sister, Wanda; stepsons, James Wheeler and Mike Willis; and his grandson, Brandon Owens.
