Walter A "Doc" Roberts
He passed away at his home in Quebeck, Tennessee surrounded by his loved ones on June 21, 2024.
He was born on January 17th, 1940 at home in Quebeck, Tennessee to Thomas Clemens Roberts and Mary Ethel (Atnip) Roberts. He graduated 8th grade and quickly took to agricultural endeavors before eventually traveling north to Michigan for work. He married Peggy Fern Guy on September 4, 1958 and returned home to Quebeck. He eventually entered road construction, where he remained until he retired in 2001. He maintained an interest in agriculture and purchased a farm in Walling, Tennessee. He invested heavily in this farm with his son, Terry Hugh Roberts. He spoke often of his pride in his children and his grandchildren.
Thomas and Mary had 7 children. Doc was preceded in death by Thomas Clemens Roberts, Mary Ethel Roberts, Luther Roberts, Mary Alta Swindell, Arlena Shoemake, and Thomas Richard Roberts.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy; sons, Walter Jerry and Terry Hugh Roberts (and wife Teresa Jo); brother, Joe Lee Roberts (and wife, Brenda); sister, Rosie Lee Taylor; grandson, Joshua Wayne Roberts; and granddaughter, Shayna Leann Luna (and husband Joel); also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements:
Visitation service will be Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Thurman Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 at 2:00PM at Thurman Funeral Home. Interment following at Doyle Cemetery.
