Walter Dennis Shaw

Walter Dennis Shaw, 90, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his residence in Clarkridge, Arkansas. He was born, as one of ten children, on August 1, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Dennis Granville and Madalon (Posson) Shaw. After being drafted and serving in the United States Navy, he later answered the call again and reenlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged from service in January of 1963.
He loved his animals and spent a lifetime raising stock at his place. His favorite of all his animals was a 3300-pound bull that he named Spuds. Walter has requested to be laid to rest by Spuds at his farm. That bull would follow him around like a dog. Walter was a brilliant mechanic. His son could call him and Walter would listen to what the vehicle sounded like, and he would tell him what was wrong with the vehicle. Walter was always right.
He is survived by three children, Robert Shaw of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lisa Rutledge of Harrison, Arkansas and Lara Shaw of Harrison, Arkansas; one sister, Denise Davis of Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews and his life-long partner, Debra Ferrell of Clarkridge, Arkansas. He will be deeply missed.
