Walter L Sheets

Walter L. Sheets was born October 12, 1943 and went home to meet the Lord on June 15th, 2024 with his daughters by his side & surrounded by family. He was the youngest of four children at the family home in rural Canal Winchester, Ohio. Parents were Harold William Sheets and Eudella Pearl (Ballinger).
Walter's first job was at the Pickerington Creamery Bremen Cheese Division. He was a Q.C. tech and supervisor at Modiglass Fibers. He was a manager for Rax Roast Beef where he was also a player/coach of the softball team. He spent time as a tandem dump truck driver and as an OTR driver for 1 year. Walter finished out working and retiring after 27 years from Superior Fibers as a production scheduler.
Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and motorcycle riding in his early years but continued riding with friends until 2019. He most recently enjoyed going to yard sales, thrift stores and treasure hunting in antique stores. A passion that he handed down to his daughters. He was a long time member of the Avlon United Brethren Church where he served on the board & as treasurer.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Melba Fern (Sipos) Sheets, Son, Shawn Michael Sheets, and Great-granddaughter Videl Corp.
He is survived by his daughters Cheryl Lynn Sheets (Andrew F. Boring) and Rebecca Marie Chandler (Christopher). Brother James W. Sheets, sisters Jacqueline Rose Thompson and Ruth Ann Duvall. His grandsons, Justin, Nathan, and Jason Sheets, Isaac, Isaiah, and Alexander Chandler, and granddaughter Jaimee Berry. Also, great grandchildren Tony, Kayliegh, Janae, James and Milo.
The family extends a special heart-felt thanks to the FAIRHOPE Hospice home nurses and staff at Pickering House for their wonderful care that they provided.
Morgan Funeral Home in Bremen, Ohio will be holding visitation services on Wednesday June 19 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Avlon United Brethren Church, 11010 Avalon Road NE, Bremen, Ohio 43107. Graveside services will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
