Walter was saved as a young boy at Woodville Baptist Church, Redan, GA. He joined Zion Baptist Church, Stone Mountain, GA in 1970 where he served as a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years and deacon and church clerk for over 30 years. He was a custom homebuilder in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties for over 55 years.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Zion Baptist Church, Stone Mountain, GA. Reverend Scott Richardson, Reverend Billy Holloway, and Reverend Lanny Myers officiating. Interment Redan Cemetery, Redan, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Baptist Church or Georgia Baptist Children's Home.

My heart aches for your loss. I have always had a special place in my heart for the Sheppard family. It has been awhile since I have been in touch but I think of you all often and am deeply saddened to hear of Walters passing. He will be missed but find comfort knowing that God is embracing him now. Love to you all and hugs to Peggy.
