Walter Greg Smith, age 78, of Poplarville, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lelius Smith and Ruth Hariel Smith; a sister, Jerry Kate Bazor; his wife, Aline Brewer Smith; and a grandson, Dakota Necaise.
Greg is survived by his children, Steven (Miranda) Smith, Angela (Darren) Dutil, and Michelle Mitchell, and Brent Smith; his sisters, Ette Rea Lee and Marcell Wells; his grandchildren, Makaya Necaise, Mason Rich, Brittany and Dillon Dutil, Jennifer Desporte, and Clay Mitchell; his great-grandchildren, Trey, Marcus, Kamille, Morgan, Mosus, Abram, and Maddox.
His favorite hobbies were attending baseball, softball, and soccer games as well as fishing. Greg loved to spoil his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 1 – 2 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
