Walter F. Weldon Jr.

Walter F. Weldon, Jr., age 89, died peacefully on June 1, 2025, at Rosewood Rehabilitation Center. Walter was born on May 27, 1936, in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, and was the son of the late Walter F. Weldon, Sr., and Sarah (Beaton) Weldon.
Walter attended Boston Latin School, and following graduation continued his studies at Boston College. There he earned a Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) and a Juris Doctorate. Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as an attorney for State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America for 29 years, until his retirement in 1995. Walter married his cherished wife Barbara on June 24, 1961 and together they shared 64 wonderful years.
Walter was a man of true humility, integrity, faith, and service. He was a hard worker, and always put the needs of others – especially his family – above his own. Along with his wife Barbara, he volunteered thousands of hours at St. Bridget's Church in Framingham, Massachusetts and St. Linus Church in Natick, Massachusetts. He served as a Boy Scout Leader and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #87. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, watching old movies, and running errands.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife Barbara (Joyce) Weldon; his loving children Robert Weldon, AnneMarie (Paul) Comber, Patricia Weldon, and Kathleen Weldon; his dear grandchildren Sean (Anna Nicol) Comber, Erin Comber, Daniel Comber, Maxwell Bohan, Nate Bohan, and Sophie Weldon; and his adored great-grandson, Ansel Comber.
In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his brother, John Weldon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 9:30am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY.
Interment with military honors will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY.
