Harold Louis Brewer, Sr. was born on March 1, 1962 in
Rushville, NE to Vincent, Sr. and Alvina (Larvie) Brewer. Harold made his journey to the Spirit World on December 7, 2025 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in
Pine Ridge, SD.
Harold grew up in Pine Ridge where he went to school at the Public School and Oglala Community School. Harold received his GED and worked for Oglala Sioux Housing Authority. He worked as a dispatcher and attended the Police Academy. Harold became a Police Officer in 1983, later making rank as a Lieutenant and then Captain. Harold also trained to become a Criminal Investigator. Harold loved working for Law Enforcement. Later in Harold's career he was a Security Guard for the Cohen Home, in total Harold would dedicate over 30 years in protecting and serving the Oglala Sioux Tribe and its people.
He became a proud Father in 1983 to Grace Brewer, he later married Lena Belt and from this union they welcomed three children, Harold Brewer, Jr, Cole Brewer and Bessie Brewer.
He later became a caretaker for both his parents for 10 years. Harold worked for a short time at the Prairie Winds Casino until his cancer became to hard to work with. During his life, he loved sports, especially Basketball. Harold and his brother Vince talked daily on the phone about football, basketball and all other sports. Harold was a runner and participated in many of the running events on the reservation. He loved his children and helped raise his grandchildren and enjoyed taking them on the Crazy Horse Ride. He was a humble man with a big heart, he was a great cook, on Harold's last days family members still asked for cooking advice.
Harold is survived by his children, Grace Brewer, Harold Brewer, Jr., Cole Brewer, & Bessie Brewer; grandchildren, Matthew Steele, Elisea Brewer, Leighton Brewer, Mataya Brewer, Tayshaun Brewer, Draya Dreamer, Kaylena Shoulders, and DreCole Shoulders; brothers, Bryan Brewer, Sr., and Vince (Sherry Bird) Brewer II; hunka brother, Chris (Joyce) Eagle Hawk; sisters, Alice (Tim) Bad Heart Bull, Frieda Brewer, Joy (Robert Cisneros) Brewer; best friend, Lena Belt; nieces, JoyLynn Parton, Kellee Brewer, Allie Big Crow, Trish Tyon Brewer, Tara Pilcher, Gwen Valandra, Ty Brewer, Schaevon Brewer, and Stacey Ecoffey; nephew, Brandon Ecoffey; and all great nieces, nephews, and other grandchildren, Carly Brewer, Bryonna Brewer, Shaylynn Bird, Jordan, Carlin, and David Brewer, Eden and Joey Gillette, Tre Luger, Derek Tyon, Jesse Schmockel, Jodene and Frankie Hunter, Maverick II, Nyssa, Naida, Manaya, Ava, Amira, and Merek Valanadra, Freedom Gardypie, Tylyn and Darrellyn Eagle Bull, King Tyon, Vinny Brewer IV, Zomari and Michael Brave, Jr, JJ Brewer, Lester, LaShae, and Lane Swallow, Taral, Ty, Titan, and Tylee Curry.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent & Alvina (Larvie) Brewer; brothers, Harold L. Brewer & Michael Brewer; nephews, Bryan Brewer, Jr., Vinny Brewer III, and Raymond Brewer; and grandparents, Robert & Bessie (Janis) Brewer and Louis & Grace (Ruff) Larvie.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Pourier, John Long, John Mousseau, Mike Murdock, Robert Ecoffey, Jake Locust, James Twiss, Wilmer "Buzz" Youngman, William Makes Him First, Richard Greenwald, and William "Shorty" Brewer.

Pine Ridge, SD with an evening meal starting at 5:00 PM and services with Rosary starting at 6:00 PM.
Funeral Services: 12:00 PM, Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Wolf Creek School Gym near
Pine Ridge, SD with a meal being served before services at 11:00 AM.
